In October 2021, staff from Xishuangbanna Tropical Botanical Garden (XTBG), Chinese Academy of Sciences, lead institution of the Global Conservation Consortium for Dipterocarps, hosted an online workshop on the identification of dipterocarps in China. Following an introduction from XTBG Director Yongping Yang, various presentations and videos were shown, putting the dipterocarps of China in context, as well as introducing the collection at XTBG as well as information on dipterocarps in the wild in China. Botanic Gardens Conservation International’s work aims to promote and develop a more efficient, cost effective and rational approach to plant conservation in botanic gardens. We will do this by leading and advocating, leading innovative and strategic projects, building plant conservation capacity, and providing funding.
