A series of modules focusing on conservation horticulture of Dipterocarpaceae were developed by project partners as part of the ‘Securing the future of threatened tree giants in Borneo’ project funded by the National Geographic Society. The project, a part of the Southeast Asia Botanic Gardens (SEABG) Network aims to enhance conservation of Dipterocarpaceae in Borneo by improving in situ species status information, developing living conservation collections and building technical and horticultural skills in Dipterocarp conservation. The series has four parts and aims to provide basic guidance on conservation techniques for Dipterocarpaceae.
Botanic Gardens Conservation International’s work aims to promote and develop a more efficient, cost effective and rational approach to plant conservation in botanic gardens. We will do this by leading and advocating, leading innovative and strategic projects, building plant conservation capacity, and providing funding.
